Tuesday, August 9
Day 1 - DEPART -
Depart US via best connections for our overnight flight with dinner arriving the next day. We will be served complimentary beverages, in-flight movies, dinner and breakfast aloft.

Wednesday, August 10
Day 2 – LISBON/FATIMA
Arrive at Lisbon Airport where we will be met and given a short orientation tour of Lisbon before the drive to Fatima. Balance of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. In the evening we join the Rosary and candlelight procession.

Thursday, August 11
Day 3 - FATIMA
This full day is devoted to visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and the birthplaces of Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia to whom the Virgin appeared for the first time on May 13th, 1917. In the evening we join the Rosary and candlelight procession.

Friday, August 12
Day 4 - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Today we depart Fatima, we travel northwards to Santiago de Compostela, one of the most famous shrines in the western world. Tradition holds that the Apostle James was cast ashore here preaching for seven years and being responsible for the conversion of Spain before returning to the Holy Land. It is believed after his death his disciples returned with his body and buried him near the mouth of the Ulla River. Dinner and overnight.

Saturday, August 13
Day 5 - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Today we will tour the city - The Cathedral of 11th to 13th century with its splendor, and the portico are masterworks of Romanesque art. We will celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight.

Sunday, August 14
Day 6 - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA/AVILA
This morning we drive to Avila. Dinner and overnight.

Monday, August 15 FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION
Day 7 - AVILA/MADRID
This morning we visit the Cathedral and the Convent of the Incarnation where St. Teresa spent 20 years before beginning her reforms. Leaving the city and traveling east we reach Madrid. This afternoon, we attend World Youth Day Opening ceremonies at ________. Return to our hotel for overnight. Meals during WYD are provided by the WYD Committee.
