Full Itinerary

Transfer from Fiumicino Airport at 10:00AM to our Agriturismo “I Grandi di Toscana” after our check-in we enjoy a welcome drink. Tonight, we dine at a local restaurant and then return for overnight.

This morning after breakfast, we visit Arezzo, a city in eastern Tuscany. We begin our walking tour with a visit of the Gothic Cathedral, the Romanesque Church of Santa Maria Della Pieve, Magnificent Piazza Grande, The Church of St Francis with the famous frescoes “History of the True Cross” by Piero Della Francesca and the church San Domenico with Cimabue’s glorious crucifix. We continue nearby to enjoy a leisurely lunch and a wine tasting. Return to our Agriturismo for a light dinner and overnight.

This morning after breakfast, we depart for Florence, the jewel of the Renaissance.
Our first stop is a visit of the Duomo, the heart of the city with its cupola by Brunelleschi. We continue outside to view Giotto’s Campanile and the Baptistry with its incomparable bronze doors by Ghiberti. Our next visit is to the Medici Chapel in the church of San Lorenzo to see the tombs designed and executed by Michelangelo. Our walking tour continues to Piazza Della Signoria, dominated by the Palazzo Vecchio and its embattlement crowned tower. We see the Loggia dei Lanzi, then continue to the Ponte Vecchio. Some free time for lunch or to explore on our own before we drive to Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy the panoramic view of this spectacular city. We have dinner in nearby Fiesole, then return to our Agriturismo for overnight.

Today we enjoy our cooking class and lunch at BADIA A COLTIBUONO Gaiole in Chianti, Siena, originally an 11th century stone abbey. This afternoon we visit San Gimignano, a small medieval hill town in the province of Siena, known as the Town of Fine Towers. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at our Agriturismo.

This morning we journey to Montalcino, the hill town of the famous Brunello wine. We begin with a visit to the Medici fortress. We continue our walking tour of the small-town center. We stop at the beautiful art deco café “Fiaschetteria”. This afternoon is dedicated to Montepulciano the “Pearl of the Renaissance”. Here we enjoy a light lunch and wine tasting. Exclusive visit to the so called “Cathedral of Wine”: The Renaissance Cantina Redi, one of the most beautiful cellars in the world. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight to our Agriturismo.

Today we journey through Tuscany to the magnificent city of Siena. Our walking tour leads us to the famous Piazza del Campo. This shell shaped square is the dramatic setting for the Palio bareback horserace. The piazza's focal point is the Palazzo Pubblico (the public palace, which dates to 1250). We continue uphill to Siena's Beautiful Gothic Cathedral filled with treasures by Pisano, Donatello and Michelangelo, as well as frescoes by Pinturicchio. Today we enjoy lunch at Castello di Meleto. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at our Agriturismo.

This morning, after breakfast, we depart for Rome. Along the way we stop to visit the old wine factory Lungarotti Winery of the classic, gold and sparkling labels. We have a lunch of casual local fare at the famous Wine Bar (Vecchia Fornace Restaurant). The wine bar is located on two floors inside the furnace, which have been carved out of the thickness of the village’s medieval walls. The ground floor is characterized by arches and a wooden-beam ceiling, while the second floor shows the blackened furnace roof. In the afternoon we continue our trip to Rome. Check in at our hotel. The remainder of day at is at our leisure. Dinner is at a local restaurant and overnight at our hotel.

Today our morning begins with a walking tour of some of the most beautiful sites of Rome. The Trevi Fountain, a spectacular fantasy of mythical sea creatures, the Spanish Steps at the base of Piazza Trinità dei Monti, Piazza Navona, the famed 17th century piazza which traces the oval form of Emperor Domitian's stadium, the Pantheon, one of Rome's most perfect, best preserved and perhaps least appreciated ancient monuments. This afternoon is free to explore on our own. Tonight, we enjoy our farewell dinner at a local roman restaurant. We return to our hotel for overnight.

Today we make our way home with a lifetime of memories.
