Sample Itinerary

All of our Pilgrimages to Mexico can be customized to the desires of your particular group. Listed below is a sample itinerary to give you a better feel for a “typical” pilgrimage.

Day 1: Travel to Mexico City & Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine

On arrival, we will be met by our tour manager/guide and will proceed to a restaurant near Tepeyac for a buffet lunch. We will celebrate our welcome Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe where we can also view the original sackcloth of Juan Diego bearing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that hangs above the main altar. Time permitting, we will visit the Church of El Pocito, the chapel in Tepeyac Hill and the gift shop near the Shrine.

Day 2: Tulpetlac, Cuautitlan & Teotihuacan

We will celebrate a morning Mass at Tulpetlac Church, which is the site of the 5th apparition of Mary and the site of the healing of Juan Bernadino. We will proceed to the birthplace of Juan Diego in Cuautitlan. Afterwards, we will journey to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, Temple of Quetzalcoatl and other fascinating structures on this magnificent archaeological site. We will also stop at a local craft shop in the Teotihuacan area for an agave demonstration and tequila tasting.

Day 3: Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, Anthropology Museum & San Juan Market

We will return in the morning to celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will visit the Shrine Museum, Garden, Chapel of the Indians and other sites in the Shrine. After lunch, we will have time to shop at the San Juan Market and then continue to the Anthropology Museum in Chapultepec Park. Here we will view its impressive collections of archaeological and anthropological artifacts from pre-Hispanic Mayan civilizations. Time permitting, we will stop by the Garibaldi Square to see the Mariachi Bands before returning to the hotel.

Day 4: Mexico City

After an early breakfast, we will enjoy the wonderful floating gardens of Xochimilco in one of their traditional “trajineras” along its canals. We will pass by the university city on our way to the Church of San Francisco to celebrate Mass. Afterwards, we visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and see the National Palace in Zocalo. Our journey continues to the Plaza de las Culturas, Santiago Church and Plaza de Santo Domingo. We will also visit the church and convent of Santo Domingo, which houses the Rosary Chapel and the altar dedicated to Our Lady of Covadonga.

Day 5: Travel Home to USA
