Trip Details

Today we depart San Francisco to connect with our overnight flight aboard a wide-bodied jet. We enjoy in-flight movies, dinner, and breakfast aloft.
We arrive in Lisbon and are met by our guide who will remain with us for the duration of our pilgrimage. We enjoy a short orientation tour of Lisbon before the drive to Santarem to celebrate Mass. We continue to Fatima and enjoy dinner at our hotel. We may join the rosary procession.
This full day is devoted to visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and nearby hamlets of Aljustrel and Valinhos. We join the English language concelebrated Mass at the Chapel of Apparitions. We visit the birthplaces of Francisco, Jacinta, and Lucia, the Loca de Anjo, and the Holy Way. In the evening, we join the International Rosary Procession. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
Today we journey to Guadalupe (Caceres) in the province of the Cathedral of San Juan – a very impressive building built between the 13th and 16th centuries. The shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe was the most important Marian shrine in the medieval kingdom of Castile. The original effigy, a Romanesque black Madonna, is almost completely occluded by her pyramidal robes. The Cathedral is predominantly gothic and Romantic, with three aisles and twelve inner chapels. The Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We celebrate Mass here. Dinner and overnight in the Guadalupe region.
We leave our hotel early this morning and drive into Madrid. We enjoy a walking tour of this marvelous city, including Mass, and a visit to the Cathedral de la Almudena. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight Madrid
Today after breakfast, we celebrate Mass at a local church- then we are free to explore Madrid- maybe visit the Prado art museum or wander the streets and soak in the atmosphere. Dinner on your own tonight. Overnight in Madrid
We continue traversing Spain to arrive in Zaragoza. Upon arrival, we visit the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. The Basilica venerates the Blessed Virgin, Our Lady of the Pillar, praised as Mother of the Hispanic Peoples by Saint John Paul II. It is the first known church dedicated to Mary in history. Local traditions take the history of this basilica to the dawn of Christianity in Spain attributing it to an apparition of the Virgin Mary to Saint James the Great, the apostle, who brought Christianity to Spain. This is the only reported apparition of Mary to have to have occurred before her believed Assumption. We celebrate Mass here. The city itself, which was founded by the Romans, boasts luxuriant vegetation, and many cascades and grottos making it a miniature Switzerland in the middle of arid upper Aragon. We dinner and overnight in Zaragoza at our hotel.
Today we continue to Lourdes. We spend our time in devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes and celebrate Mass at the Grotto. We enjoy free time for private devotions, the Eucharistic Procession, the Blessing of the Sick, or partake of the legendary, healing waters of the miraculous Lourdes spring. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. In the evening, we can join the Torchlight Marian Procession.
Following a private Mass in one of Lourdes’ chapels, we enjoy free time this morning to visit the baths, followed by an afternoon orientation visit to the Shrine and a walking tour of Lourdes, visiting Boly Mill, where St. Bernadette was born, the Cachot, formerly used as a jail, where she lived during the apparitions, and the parish church. Free time to walk the stations of the cross. We enjoy our farewell dinner in a Lourdes restaurant and overnight at our hotel.
Early this morning we depart Lourdes for Toulouse where we board a short flight to Paris and connect to our return flight home arriving later today with unforgettable memories to cherish always
