Today we depart Boston for our overnight flight to Madrid.
This morning we arrive in Porto and are greeted by our Unitours Tour Manager as we transfer to our motorcoach for our drive to Sarria, the place where we begin our journey on the “Camino” following the Portuguese Way of St. James. Upon arrival and check in at our hotel, we have time to prepare for the walking pilgrimage and enjoy the delightful town of Sarria. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

This morning, we enjoy an early morning Mass at the 11th century Cathedral of Santiago, a masterwork of Romanesque art, followed by breakfast at our hotel. The world-famous Shrine of St. James (“Santiago” in Spanish). The Apostle James preached here for seven years before returning to the Holy Land, where he was martyred (beheaded) in 44A.D. The remainder of our relaxing day includes a bus trip to the lovely coastal towns of Muxia, Finisterre and Muros. We enjoy lunch on our own before we return to Santiago for our “farewell” dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at our hotel.
Today, we transfer to the Porto airport for our return flight to US. We arrive later that day, with memories of a lifetime.
