                                                Mexico

Day 1 - USA/MEXICO CITY - Today, we depart our local Airport to connect with our flight to Mexico City. Upon arrival, we are greeted by our Tour Manager and enjoy a brief orientation tour of Mexico City. Depending on airline schedules, we have the opportunity for our first pilgrim’s Mass in Mexico at the shrine of Blessed Miguel Pro in the Church of the Holy Family, here in Mexico City! Blessed Miguel was a Jesuit priest, executed for exercising his priestly duties during the persecution of the Catholic Church under President Elias Calles in the 1920s. Beatified by Pope Saint John Paul II in 1988, Fr. Miguel was an inspirational figure as Mexico rebuilt its Catholic institutions following President Calles reign. Afterwards, we transfer to our hotel for our “welcome” dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - TULPETLAC - This morning, we celebrate Mass at Tulpetlac Church, the site of the 5th apparition of Mary and site of the healing of St. Juan Diego Bernadino. We then visit Cuautitlan, the birthplace of St. Juan Diego. We also visit the Chapel of Tepeyac where the first apparition occurred. Following a break for lunch on our own, we spend the afternoon visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, “Patroness of the Americas”. Here the original sackcloth of St. Juan Diego hangs above the main altar as testimony of Our Lady’s miraculous appearances. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Day 3 - OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE SHRINE – Today, we celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, followed by free time for prayer and reflection. We then visit the El Pocito Church before continuing to the San Juan Market for browsing and shopping. Afterwards, we journey to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, “Place of the Sun and Moon,” the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and other fascinating cultural structures. Our included lunch is taken here.  We return to Mexico City in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - MEXICO CITY – This morning, following Mass at the Church of San Francisco, we visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace and the Anthropology Museum, taking lunch on our own along the way. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Day 5 - PUEBLA – Today, following morning Mass, we leave Mexico City and travel to the colonial city of Puebla and its famous Pottery Works.  We visit the Cathedral, the rosary Chapel, the Casza del Alfenique and return via Cholula, with its famous pyramid and 365 churches, one for each day of the year.  Following our included luncheon, we return to Mexico City and spend the remainder of the day at leisure before dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Day 6 - COYOACAN – This morning, we begin our day with Mass at Del Carmen Church, then continue to the Coyoacan and San Angel areas, which will include the Bazaar Sabado. Lunch here is included. This afternoon, we make our final visit to the Shrine before returning to our hotel for our “farewell” dinner and overnight.

Day 7 - MEXICO CITY/USA – Today, following breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our return journey home with memories of a lifetime.

“Our Lady of Guadalupe is a miracle site everyday our pilgrims gaze upon,
an image on a centuries old cloth, science cannot explain”
